One of the best things about fall are the festivals, and the Feast of the Hunter’s Moon is a fall festival your family is sure to enjoy! Every fall, people of all ages flock to Fort Ouiatenon for a recreation of the fall gathering of the French and the Native Americans that took place annually so many years ago. Throughout the grounds, you will find plenty of places to dive into history and immerse yourself in an outdoor adventure that will land itself on your family’s fall festivities list for years to come!
With realistic time period music events, food booths with era-appropriate delicious food options, and even an era flea market type sales set up with wears from the mid 1700’s, The Feast of the Hunter’s Moon is one of my family’s favorite things about fall.

Every year, the Indianapolis Children’s Museum near downtown Indianapolis hosts a haunted house perfect for all of the members of your household. While you are on the property, get ready to check out a variety of activities at the largest children’s museum in the United States! With five floors of exhibits, plus a new, state-of-the-art outdoor sports area to check out, you are bound to find something for everyone all at one stop!
Enjoy Holiday World’s Happy Halloween Weekends
Ready for some crazy fun for the entire family? Our next contender on the list of fall family activities in Indiana is a weekend at Holiday World’s Happy Halloween Weekends. If you have never traveled to Santa Claus, Indiana, fall is a great time to check out the amazing theme park this small town has to offer. With a park full of amazing ride options for younger kids and older thrill-seekers alike, Holiday World is full of spooktacular family fun for everyone in your crew. From dance parties and live music to hay rides and trick or treating this weekend getaway will be one your family will not soon forget!

Go Apple Picking in the Indianapolis Area at Beasleys Orchard
Been checking out apple orchards around the state of Indiana looking for the best one? Well, look no further than Beasleys Orchard! While the Orchard is open most of the year, the fall season is the perfect time to grab a delicious apple or ten from the farmers market, shoot apple cannons, and pick the perfect pumpkin for pumpkin painting at home. This fun place also features a barnyard bonanza, a giant jump pad the whole family can play on together.

Before you leave the area, be sure to check out the ongoings in Nashville, IN where you can check out some amazing local artists, taste some beer from some local breweries, get some yummy ice cream and maybe even catch a car show in town!

Be sure to check the website to see when the cemetery is hosting their driving tours, which may be more appropriate if your kiddos are not up for long dark walks through the cemetery at night.
