ZYIA Active Wear: A Crazy Stay at Home Mom’s Honest Active Wear Review

Alright, moms let’s face it. It is becoming seemingly more and more accepted that the “momiform” of our generation is active wear review.

We wear it to grocery shop, to drop the kids at school, to clean, and sleep in. Heck, occasionally we even wear it to work out! Imagine that? I mean, this mama lives in leggings with zero shame as illustrated in this post, so the jump to active wear was simply natural, right?

It seems that the market has caught onto our love on spandex blended leggings and over-sized lightweight hoodies however, and these are being mass produced in big box stores across the country. Problem is, one brand of active wear is not the next.

In a mom’s world where we already don’t have time to be shopping, finding the right brand that is going to hold up can be a chore. God only knows if there is one thing we do not need, its one more freaking chore.

Therefore, when I was provided the opportunity complete an active wear review of a brand I had never heard of before, I was so there. I mean, I am going to get to test these bad boys out in my natural habitat and I do not have to go seek them out at twelve stores first?

Yes girl.

But what to choose from this active wear review!

Upon checking into the ZYIA catalog, I am not going to lie, overwhelm set in for a few moments. This company seriously has a legging or jogger style for everyone in a print that they will love to boot! From rose golds to camo and everything in between, I was over the moon excited to get started.

It didn’t stop at legging though ladies.

So, what did I choose for this active wear review?

Going with the practical, I landed on a pair of black light and tight leggings, the grid bra, and a boyfriend hoodie. I mean, that outfit should serve my Monday-Friday, right?

When my order came in, the first thing I noticed was that even the packaging of my items received screamed quality. There were no cheap plastic cellophane bags to be found. This stuff was sent in fancy packages with zipper tops. Maybe I am easily impressed, but this mama was full of excitement for the actual product after just seeing the bags.

Speaking of the product, it was quickly evident upon opening my new pieces that the quality surpassed anything I have in my closet. My leggings go on smoothly and stay put for once in my life. Not only that, but when I bend over, my ZYIA leggings refrain from the see through magic act that many cheaper leggings have mastered. It is bliss.

Also, did I mention these ZYIA leggings have pockets? Not itty bitty fold your dollar into origami to fit pockets, but hold my phone, money, card and half my toddlers toys pockets. They are magical!

My Grid ZYIA Bra fits the way I would imagine the sports bras of the Gods would fit. It holds my ladies in place while giving me cleavage action like I have never before seen in a sports bra.

And my boyfriend ZYIA hoodie? Guys, it is more comfortable than any hoodie of a guys I have commandeered in the past. It is lightweight and loose fitting, perfect for day to day wear. The material is where the money is though. This is seriously softest hoodie I have ever come in contact with.

Yeah, I was pleased by the items in my ZYIA line. This outfit quickly became a day to day staple that I was comfortable in both in public and at home. I mean, how does it get better than that?

While I could rave for hours about the good of this line. I want to give you a quick snapshot into the not so good of this active wear review.

First off, the sticker shock on these amazing pieces can be somewhat of a deterrent. I am not going to lie, if I had not tried this line first, I probably would not be transitioning the majority of my active wear to the ZYIA name because of the price tag. However, I am here to tell you the quality of these pieces means I will be throwing out so many less leggings. That alone is a huge win in my book.

Another issue I found with ZYIA is that there are some sizing woes when you first start. While my first order landed me the perfect sizing, my mom’s first order did not go over so hot. This resulted in her ending up with ZYIA leggings that rolled on top. Ensuring you are in the right size is essential for a good fit with this brand. While there are resources in the ZYIA site to help you with sizing, I recommend reaching out to a rep to help you to ensure the best fit possible.

***UPDATE: Guys, I am over 2 years out from this review and here is what I have to report. My ZYIA leggings? They are still completely intact. No holes, no see through butt area, no tears, nada. I honestly did not expect them to hold up that well and yet, here we are!

My ZYIA hoodie? Pretty well the same shape! I really expected to have those tell-tell little holes that wear into thin fabric such as what this hoodie is made of, especially with how much I wear this piece. And yet, it is still pristine. Color me impressed.

My ZYIA sports bra? This dude has been washed, dried (yep, my kiddo has put it into the dryer more than once by mistake) and yet, it still fits!

Not going to lie, when I wrote this ZYIA activewear review, I did not expect these three pieces to fair quite this well. This being said, I just wanted to jump back in and give you this quick update to let you know how things have held up to everyday mom life!
